How did you first learn about the Hapsburgs, and what inspired you to join (or create) the Habsburg League?
For myself, it started when I attended (really by accident) a conference on Blessed Karl of Austria at a Tridentine parish (which I would visit from time to time) about three years ago. Being a devoted reader of The Lord of the Rings, the idea of a Sacred Crown and a King in exile captured my imagination, and I began writing a short story which I entitled The Citadel. When I finished writing The Citadel, I realized that I had the middle of a much larger story, and began work on a novel called Tower of Ivory.
The Hapsburgs and the Holy Roman Empire had captured my imagination, and after a ton of research they soon appealed to my reason and my faith. Realizing that the only complete solution to the modern mess of the world is a Return to Christendom, I got involved with the Hapsburg Restoration Movement, becoming Knight Commander of the then extremely small English branch, and set up The War for Christendom website for the dual purpose of informing others about the Movement, and the real story of the history of Christendom, and about my books.
Of course it was then an extremely natural step to join the Habsburg League, and I'm glad I did.

Well, I have known about the Habsburgs almost my whole life, as I am a huge history buff. I used to be libertarian, but I was never anti-monarchist, I just though Libertarianism was the best way to go. All that changed when I read Atlas Shrugged. I looked at what Ayn Rand was proposing and saw it as the logical final stage of Libertarianism. I hated it. At the same time I was reading Christ the King: Lord of History by Ann Carroll, which introduced me to Bl. Karl. I then began reading her husband's works, particularly the Christendom series, along with Revolution and Counter Revolution by Plinio Correa de Oliveira. I then became a committed monarchist, more so after reading A Heart fir Europe by James and Joanna Bogle.
As to the League, I am one of the two founders, along with The Chancellor. The first incarnation was know as The Traditionalist Guild was a a flop. The Chancellor then had the idea of reviving the guild on Steam, with the name of The Order of Cathelineau. After a few weeks, we realized that the guild needed to be revised and moved so that we could reach a greater audience. I found a good forum host and here you have us now.

Ah yes, Christ the King the Lord of History, and the Christendom series. Well, I'm hoping that the readers of The War for Christendom who believe in the Cause will come here and join the League (as I just did a short post about it). The combination of our efforts will definitely be extremely beneficial to the Cause.

They are really great books. I also highly recommend Revolution and Counter-Revolution by Pinio Correa de Oliveira and A Heart for Europe by James and Joanna Bogle

I will certainly look into them, especially as I have already heard good reviews of A Heart for Europe.

Any way that we can be able to read The Citadel? You could, but it contains plot spoilers for Tower of Ivory. Actually, I could send you the first five chapters of Tower of Ivory (chapter five isn't fully finished yet, but I have the gist of it) and The Citadel. I need outside input, and would be grateful for your opinion. I'm actually considering revising The Citadel and turning it into the last chapter of the second novel in The War for Christendom series.

I'm new here, so this seems like a good place to start. I am a 4th generation Vorarlberger, of Haus Von Bilgeri. My ancestors came to Alabama in 1860, due to Vorarlberg's lack of economic opportunity, and my great, great, great grandfather Sebastian Bilgeri started a watch business there. We still visit family in Vorarlberg, and we are in Texas now.
As for me, I've gone through the stages of the red-pill, and would consider myself a traditionalist. I would consider myself a Habsburg enthusiast, and I came here to learn from the best. You all seem to know much more than I do. I'd consider my presence here as a learning experience, for me anyway.

Speaking of red-pill.

There's not really an official way to join yet. The closest thing would be joining the official Google Plus community. You can read the Constitution of the Movement here.
